Carrie Johnson: Worboys could have 1,000 victims

Carrie Johnson, the wife of former prime minister Boris Johnson, has stated that the number of victims of black cab rapist John Worboys could be '1,000, if not more'. Appearing on Good Morning Britain on Wednesday, 20 May, Ms Johnson discussed her own encounter with Worboys when she was 19 years old.

Scale of crimes

She explained that Worboys operated as a cab driver potentially every night between 2000 and 2009, the period during which his known crimes were committed. Ms Johnson was one of several women who publicly advocated for Worboys to remain in prison. Her comments highlight the potential scale of Worboys' crimes beyond those for which he was convicted.

Ms Johnson's appearance on the programme drew attention to the possibility that many more victims may exist, given the length of time Worboys was active and the nature of his offences. She urged authorities to continue investigating and supporting those affected.
