A shocking pocket-dial blunder has unearthed a grisly alleged plot, handing Kentucky police a bombshell piece of evidence straight from a suspect's own pocket.
The bizarre chain of events began when Melissa Chapman inadvertently called her ex-husband, leaving a lengthy voicemail that captured a conversation she was having with another man, 62-year-old Larry Salisbury.
Unbeknownst to her, her phone, tucked away, was recording every chilling word.
The Incriminating Recording
The accidental voicemail, later obtained by investigators, allegedly captured a detailed discussion about disposing of a corpse. Chapman and Salisbury can reportedly be heard debating the grim task ahead.
"I don't want to touch him. I'll help you drag him... I don't want to feel him," Chapman is alleged to have said on the recording.
Salisbury reportedly responds, instructing her to "grab a limb" to help move the body into a vehicle, adding the callous remark, "He ain't gonna feel nothing."
Police Launch Investigation
The ex-husband, upon discovering the horrifying message, immediately contacted the authorities. The Scott County Sheriff's Office launched an investigation, tracing the conversation back to Chapman's home.
When confronted, Chapman allegedly admitted to police that the man they discussed was already dead and that the plan was to move the body to a remote location. The identity of the deceased individual or the circumstances surrounding their death have not been publicly disclosed.
Both Melissa Chapman and Larry Salisbury were subsequently arrested and charged with tampering with physical evidence and abuse of a corpse. Salisbury faces an additional charge of unlawful imprisonment related to the incident.
