Brisbane Rideshare Driver Faces Serious Charges of Rape and Stalking
A 29-year-old rideshare driver has been formally accused of sexually assaulting a passenger and engaging in a pattern of stalking behaviour against multiple women, prompting a police appeal for additional victims to step forward. Law enforcement officials conducted a raid on the man's residence in Brisbane's northwest on November 17, confiscating crucial digital evidence including mobile phones and a laptop.
Allegations Spanning Multiple Years and Victims
Police investigations reveal that between 2020 and 2025, the driver allegedly targeted women he transported, subsequently stalking them through social media platforms and showing up uninvited at their homes. In a particularly distressing incident from mid-2025, a 27-year-old woman utilised a white Mercedes Benz A45 rideshare service to travel home. The driver later initiated contact with her on social media, which quickly escalated into a brief relationship.
On July 20, the man is alleged to have arrived at the woman's home without warning and sexually assaulted her. He reportedly returned on August 17, issuing threats before departing due to the presence of other individuals at the property.
Additional Cases of Harassment and Intimidation
Earlier, on November 1, 2024, a 21-year-old woman is said to have used the same ride-share vehicle to return home. Following the journey, the driver exchanged social media details with her and proceeded to send numerous messages, threatening to visit her workplace. The woman never met him again after the initial ride and blocked his online accounts.
Further police inquiries have uncovered another alleged victim from around November 2020, when a 20-year-old woman began a relationship with the same driver. Within two months, he is accused of assaulting her, accessing her phone without permission, and appearing at her residence whenever she failed to answer his calls.
Police Appeal for More Victims to Come Forward
Senior Sergeant Robert Lowry emphasised that there are likely additional women who have experienced similar behaviour from this driver. 'From the information that we've got, there probably are other women out there that have experienced this behaviour by this driver,' he stated during a press conference on Wednesday. 'We are getting some calls coming into the office about similar instances, which we're investigating. The purpose of today is to put a wider call-out to the community to see if there are other women out there who have experienced this behaviour.'
The accused is described as approximately 170cm tall, with a tanned complexion, a solid and muscular build, and tattoos on both arms and one leg. He is currently on bail under stringent conditions and is scheduled to appear at Brisbane Magistrates Court on April 17.
