A 29-year-old rideshare driver has been charged with rape and stalking after police allege he targeted female passengers over a five-year period. Officers raided his home in Brisbane’s northwest on 17 November, seizing mobile phones and a laptop.
Police say the man picked up women through his rideshare service and then stalked them on social media and at their homes between 2020 and 2025. In one incident in mid-2025, a 27-year-old woman used his white Mercedes-Benz A45 for a ride home. The driver later contacted her on social media and they had a brief relationship, but on 20 July he allegedly went to her house unannounced and sexually assaulted her. He returned on 17 August and threatened her, but left when others were present.
In a separate case on 1 November 2024, a 21-year-old woman used the same car. The driver exchanged social media details with her, then sent multiple messages and threatened to attend her workplace. She blocked him and never met him again. Police also allege that in November 2020, a 20-year-old woman began a relationship with the man, who within two months assaulted her, went through her phone, and turned up at her house if she did not answer his calls.
The man has been charged with one count each of rape, coercive control, threatening violence, misusing a telecommunications service, trespass, and three counts of stalking. Senior Sergeant Robert Lowry said there were likely more victims and urged them to come forward. The accused is 170cm tall, with a tanned complexion, a solid muscular build, and tattoos on both arms and one leg. He is on bail with strict conditions and will appear in Brisbane magistrates court on 17 April.
