A male youth has been charged after a man was allegedly attacked by a group of teenagers at Dunfermline bus station in Fife, leaving him unconscious. The incident occurred between 11:50 p.m. on Saturday, June 20, and 12:15 a.m. on Sunday, June 21, 2026, in a graffiti-filled lane connecting Chapel Street and Queen Ann Street.
Attack captured on video
Videos circulating online show multiple youths surrounding the victim in the alleyway. The man was allegedly stomped on multiple times, resulting in him losing consciousness. Police Scotland launched an investigation after becoming aware of the footage.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "An investigation is under way after police received a report of a man being assaulted in Dunfermline. The man, who has yet to be traced, was assaulted between the hours of 11.50pm on Saturday, 20 June and 12.15am on Sunday, 21 June, 2026, on a lane that connects Chapel Street and Queen Ann Street."
Charges and ongoing enquiries
One male youth has been charged in connection with the assault. Police confirmed that enquiries are ongoing as they work to trace the injured man. The spokesperson added: "Footage showing the attack has been circulating online. A male youth has been charged in connection with assault and enquiries are continuing."
Appeal for information
Authorities are appealing for the victim to come forward and for any witnesses to provide information. The Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Enquiries are ongoing to trace the male assaulted and officers are appealing for him to get in touch. Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 0924 of 21 June, 2026. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be given anonymously."
