Newport City Council has released CCTV footage as part of an appeal to trace a man who appeared to dump a trolley full of waste on a residential street before walking off.
The incident occurred on Monday afternoon, August 2, on Chepstow Road. In the footage, the man pushes a trolley loaded with what looks like waste, rests on it briefly as two passers-by walk along the street, then leaves the trolley and walks around the corner onto Harrow Road.
Council appeal
Sharing the appeal, Newport City Council said: "Do you know this person? They were caught on CCTV dumping a trolley full of waste on Chepstow Road on Monday afternoon, just after 2pm, before leaving it and walking off along Harrow Road."
The council added: "We are appealing for anyone who might recognise this person to come forward with any information that will assist our investigation into this offence. You can contact us on 01633 656 656 or email info@newport.gov.uk."
Recent flytipping issues
This comes days after a report on a build-up of rubbish in Cardiff, where streets have been blighted with flytipping, including furniture piled high near residents' homes and a kitchen sink strewn along a footpath.
Cardiff Council has also condemned those who flytip and reminded residents they will face a fixed penalty notice or court action if caught.
