Tragedy at the Pleasure Park

A coroner's court has been told that the cause of death of a 16-year-old boy who died at a popular Welsh theme park remains a mystery. Taha Ali Soomro tragically passed away at Barry Island Pleasure Park on May 23.

Emergency Response and Inquest

On that day, South Wales Police received reports that the teenager was in apparent cardiac arrest. The inquest at Pontypridd Coroner's Court heard how emergency CPR was carried out at the scene. Despite the efforts of paramedics, Taha was declared dead at the theme park.

Cause of Death Unascertained

A post-mortem examination conducted by Dr Stephen Leadbeater at the University Hospital of Wales was unable to determine why the otherwise healthy boy died. The report gave a provisional cause of death as unascertained, leaving investigators and Taha's family searching for answers.
