A body discovered by police in Suffolk has been confirmed to be that of Steven Baker, the 50-year-old man from Essex who was reported missing earlier this month.
Search concludes with tragic discovery
The search for Steven Baker ended on Friday, November 28, when officers discovered a man's body in the Sudbury area. The 50-year-old, who was from Gestingthorpe in Essex, had last been seen in the same town on Tuesday, November 18.
Authorities had expressed significant concern for his welfare after he disappeared, prompting a public appeal and search operation. Police have now confirmed that his family has been informed of this tragic development.
Unexplained but not suspicious death
Suffolk Police have stated that while the death is currently being treated as unexplained, they do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances surrounding it. Formal identification procedures are still underway as a matter of protocol.
When he was reported missing, Steven was described as being 5 foot 10 inches tall with very long mousey-grey hair and a beard. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, brown boots and a black sweatshirt.
