A body has been found in the search for a teenager who went missing after his kayak capsized off the Northumberland coast.
Discovery in waters off Blyth
Michael Henry, 19, from Rothbury, was presumed to have died at sea after the kayak he was in overturned near Boulmer on 7 July. The other person on board was rescued by Coastguard personnel.
Northumbria Police confirmed that a body was recovered in waters off Blyth on 26 July. Formal identification has taken place and files have been passed to the coroner.
Family tribute
Michael's family previously described him as a "marvellous person" in a tribute, thanking everyone for their love and support. They said: "We would like to thank everyone for all their love, kindness and support now and throughout Michael's life; it was that love and kindness that made him the marvellous person he was."
Michael was a much-loved son, brother, grandson, nephew, team-mate and friend, and a keen sportsman who loved the outdoors. He was preparing to travel this summer and hoped to start university next academic year.
The search operation was stood down on 15 July, with authorities concluding he had died at sea.
