Fire crews are battling a blaze at a commercial building on Rainford Road in Bickerstaffe, West Lancashire, near junction three of the M58 motorway. Smoke is visible over the motorway, prompting warnings from Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service.

Incident Details

The fire service was called to the scene at 6:16 am on June 30. Six fire engines, a water tower, and a drone are in attendance. Aerial photographs show thick smoke rising from the building.

Public Advice

In a Facebook statement, Lancashire Fire and Rescue urged: "If you can see or smell smoke, keep your windows and doors shut." The M58 traffic has not been affected, but drivers may notice reduced visibility.
