Emergency services have been dispatched to a popular beauty spot in Nottinghamshire following reports of a man entering the water at Balderton Lake. The lake, located in New Balderton near Newark, has been closed to the public as police, fire crews, and an air ambulance converge on the scene.
Police Statement
Nottinghamshire Police issued a statement urging the public to avoid the area. The force said: "Emergency services were called to Balderton Lake, off Heron Way, New Balderton, at 2.35pm today (28 May) following reports a man had entered the water. Police, fire service and East Midlands Ambulance Service teams remain at the scene and we are advising people to please keep away from the area."
