Attempted Murder Charges After Car Hits Pedestrians

A 40-year-old man has been charged with five counts of attempted murder after a car struck a group of pedestrians in Arnold, Nottinghamshire, early on Saturday morning. The incident occurred at 1.12am in Market Place, following an earlier altercation in the town centre.

Details of the Incident

One man sustained life-threatening injuries, while four others received less serious injuries when they were hit by a red Vauxhall Astra. Duane Anthony, of Marton Road, Chilwell, also faces charges of aggravated vehicle taking, driving while disqualified, and driving without valid insurance.

Court Appearance

Anthony is scheduled to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Monday morning. One of the victims, a player from Woodthorpe Park Rangers, remains in hospital fighting for his life.
