A 27-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a fatal hit and run in Linlithgow, after a pedestrian was struck and killed on Main Street.
The incident happened in the early hours of Sunday morning. A 48-year-old male pedestrian was hit by a grey Renault Clio and, despite the efforts of emergency services, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police confirm arrest
Officers confirmed on Monday, August 31, that the 27-year-old man had been arrested in connection with the incident. Enquiries remain ongoing.
Police had previously appealed to the public for information as they tried to trace the occupants of the vehicle involved.
Family thoughts offered
Following the crash, Inspector Thomas Mallinson said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who has died.”
