Road Closures and Evacuations
Park Road was closed in both directions between High Park Street and David Street, causing traffic delays. According to traffic monitoring site Inrix, David Street, Jacob Street, High Park Street, and Isaac Street were also shut while officers dealt with the incident. The road closures lasted approximately one hour, during which time businesses within the cordon were asked to evacuate.
One evacuated individual told the Liverpool Echo: "I don't have a clue what happened, but police just turned up and told us to leave. Another man, whose business was inside the cordon, added: "Police just came in and told us we needed to get out as soon as possible. We ran out and I locked the door. We stood and watched for an hour."
