A heavily armed man was arrested at Donald Trump's California golf course on Sunday, just days before the president was due to host a fundraiser there.
Arrest Details
Jeanine John Taele, 38, was detained by Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies after being spotted taking pictures and assessing security activities at the golf course at around 3:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Police found a loaded magazine in Taele's pocket, according to the LA Times. A subsequent search of his vehicle in the car park uncovered a loaded pistol and additional ammunition.
Further Weapons Found
A search of his property in Downey, California, on Monday yielded more weapons and ammunition, including a .45 caliber pistol, body armor, and high-capacity magazines. Authorities also found notebooks containing concerning statements and two radio devices.
Taele was arrested on suspicion of carrying a concealed firearm and possession of illegal ammunition, including hollow point bullets.
Investigation Ongoing
Police are investigating the incident and have stated there is no credible threat to communities. Taele is also being investigated in connection with a robbery in nearby El Segundo.
