An 'armed' man was apprehended at President Trump's California golf course just days before a scheduled fundraiser.
Arrest Details
Jeanine John Taele, 38, was taken into custody by Los Angeles County sheriff's officers after he was spotted snapping photos and scrutinising security measures at the golf course around 3.30pm on Sunday.
This incident occurred ahead of Trump's planned Republican National Committee fundraising dinner at the golf club in the Rancho Palos Verdes suburb on Tuesday.
Weapons Found
According to the LA Times, police found a loaded magazine in Taele's pocket. A loaded pistol and additional ammunition were discovered in his car.
On Monday, a subsequent search of the 38-year-old's residence in Downey, California resulted in the discovery of more firearms and ammunition, including a .45 caliber pistol, body armour, and high-capacity magazines. Police also found several notebooks containing 'concerning statements', along with two radio devices.
Investigation
Taele was arrested on suspicion of carrying a concealed firearm and possessing illegal ammunition, including hollow point bullets.
Authorities have initiated an investigation and assured that there is 'no credible threat to our communities.' Taele is also being investigated in relation to a robbery in nearby El Segundo.
