Appeal to trace missing Staffordshire teens in Wigan

Staffordshire Police have launched an appeal for information to help trace two teenage girls believed to have travelled from Stafford to Wigan by train.

Casey-Lea and Maria, both 15, were captured on CCTV at Stafford train station boarding a northbound train that departed just before 1pm on Monday November 2. The force said they have not yet confirmed which stop the girls alighted at, but believe they may have got off at Wigan station at 1.53pm.

Priority work with other forces

Staffordshire Police said they are conducting "priority work" alongside British Transport Police and other forces, including GMP, to check for potential sightings of the girls on CCTV along the route.

In a statement on Facebook, the force said: "New CCTV shows both Casey-Lea and Maria at Stafford train station between 12.18pm and 12.19pm."

"The images appear to show that Casey-Lea changed her clothing at the station and has shorter hair in the style of a bob. She is also wearing a backpack."

Descriptions of the girls

Casey-Lea is described as 5ft 6ins tall with a slim build. She normally wears gold-rimmed glasses and was last seen wearing a black jumper and denim skirt.

Maria is described as 5ft 4ins tall with a slim build and black shoulder-length straight hair. She was last seen wearing a black leather jacket, a t-shirt with a motif and writing on the front and back, a black skirt and tights.

Anyone with information that could help locate Casey-Lea and Maria is urged to contact Staffordshire Police by calling 101, quoting incident 489 of 2 November.
