Alcatraz Ferry Crashes Into Pier, Shattering Windows and Terrifying Passengers

A ferry trip to Alcatraz Island turned into a terrifying ordeal on Sunday when the vessel crashed into a pier in San Francisco Bay, shattering windows and knocking passengers off their feet. The Alcatraz City Cruises boat repeatedly struck Pier 31 as it attempted to dock, causing several windows to break, according to videos shared on social media.

Passengers described the experience as traumatic. Olivia RiosAcuña, who booked the tour for her son, told KGO-TV: “I was terrified. I was like, what on earth is going on? And then I was like, okay, who on earth is driving this boat?” She said her son was left in tears by the incident.

Another passenger, Genesis Alcocer, noted that the crew appeared panicked despite not making a big deal of the crash. Daniel Aburto questioned the crew's experience, saying: “Is it your first day? That was my thought. Like, this is your first day. There’s no way, there’s no way.”
