Tragedy at Harrow Shopping Centre

A 17-year-old boy has died after falling from a height at a shopping centre in Harrow, London. The incident occurred on Wednesday, 12 November, at approximately 9:05am near St Kilda's Road, which is adjacent to St George's Shopping Centre.

Emergency Response and Investigation

Police, paramedics, and London's Air Ambulance were dispatched to the scene following reports of the fall. Despite making what were described as "extensive" efforts to save the teenager's life, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Metropolitan Police have confirmed they are investigating the circumstances surrounding what they have classed as an "unexpected" death. However, they have stated that the incident is not being treated as suspicious.

A police cordon was put in place around the area while initial enquiries were carried out.

Community and Family Support

In a statement, the Metropolitan Police confirmed that the boy's next of kin have been informed and are currently being supported by specialist officers.

St George's Shopping Centre also released a statement on Facebook, expressing that their thoughts were with the individual and their family. They confirmed they are "working closely with the authorities" and would not be providing further comment at this time.

A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service detailed their response: "We sent an ambulance crew, paramedics in fast response cars, an advanced paramedic and an incident response officer to the scene. We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance. Despite the extensive efforts to save his life, a patient sadly died at the scene."
