Tributes to Mum Found Dead in Rochdale Farm Fire, Man Arrested

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the body of Laura Foulis, a mother described as a 'beautiful soul', was discovered in a fire at a farm in Rochdale. The 30-something woman was found inside a stables at Higher Tunshill Farm in Milnrow on Friday, July 3.

Firefighters were called to the blaze at the farm off Tunshill Lane at approximately 12:30pm. The fire was so intense that witnesses reported large flames and black smoke billowing across the area. Greater Manchester Police (GMP) arrested a man in his 40s on suspicion of murder. He has since been bailed pending further investigation. The police confirmed on July 7 that the man remained on bail. A GMP spokesperson stated: 'At around 12.30pm on Friday 3 July, emergency services were called to reports of a fire at Higher Tunshill Farm, Milnrow. Sadly, emergency services discovered the body of a woman inside stables at the property. A male in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of murder and has since been bailed pending further investigation. A scene remains in place and enquiries are ongoing.'

Friends and family have paid heartfelt tributes to Laura, remembering her as a 'kind soul' who inspired others' love of horses.
