Two teenage girls, aged 15 and 16, have been accused of fatally stabbing a 12-year-old boy near Moscow, Russia, after allegedly wanting to "see a person die and feel like executioners". Maxim Titov was reportedly lured to his death and stabbed multiple times, with suspicion that the murder was connected to violent videos circulating on TikTok.
Suspects in custody over premeditated murder
The two teenage girls were taken into custody on suspicion of committing "premeditated murder". One of the suspects allegedly revealed she wanted to know "what blood is and what it's like to kill".
It was reported that the pair "bought gloves, grabbed knives, and, under the pretext of meeting 'for a beer', invited him to an abandoned building". Maxim was directed to meet the girls at an abandoned building in the village of Kabanovo, near Orekhovo-Zuevo. Police sources added that "they agreed to leave their phones before the meeting to avoid being tracked".
Mother's desperate calls
The boy's mother, Anzhela Titova, 32, revealed she repeatedly attempted to reach her son, who had promised to return home on time. "The phone was on, no one answered," she said. "I called, called, called. Somewhere around, probably, 11pm, the phone died..."
One of the suspects had reportedly reshared TikTok videos of "games" where "the characters brutally harm people", the Mirror US reports. It is believed that one of the girls had secured a place at a medical college as a trainee nurse, while the other had planned to pursue a career in tourism.
Remorse and planned murder claims
"How did someone [like that] get into medical school [to train as a nurse]?", Ms Titova added. Law enforcement sources and her father indicate the 15-year-old girl "admitted her guilt" in the killing and "expressed remorse".
According to the grieving mother, she said they had "heard they had been planning this murder since August 20".
