Steven 'Bonzo' Daniel, 46, was arrested at his home in Glasgow during a dawn raid on Wednesday morning. The high-profile Daniel crime clan figure was detained outside his property in Robroyston at 6am.
He was arrested in connection with serious and organised crime, firearms and drugs offences. The raid was part of Operation Venetic, a long-running police investigation targeting organised crime gangs.
Second arrest in connection with the same offences
Elsewhere, a 39-year-old man was also arrested in connection with serious and organised crime, firearms and drugs offences. He was additionally arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.
Police statement on enforcement action
Assistant Chief Constable David Ferry said: “The Chief Constable has made it clear that those intent on being involved in serious and organised crime will be brought to justice. This enforcement action underlines that commitment.”
“We will continue to take strong action and to use every tool and tactic available to relentlessly pursue those involved in serious criminality who seek to profit from the harm and misery they cause to communities in Scotland.”
