Two men charged following a counter-terror police investigation have been further remanded into custody.
Harley Elliot, 20, and McKenzie Smyth, 19, appeared at Manchester Magistrates' Court today, September 21.
Charges and Incident
On September 7 the pair were charged with going equipped to cause criminal damage, namely with lighter fuel and spray paint, and possession of an offensive weapon, namely a hammer and a kitchen knife.
Police said that officers were called to Singleton Road in Salford at 1.50am on Sunday, September 6. Counter Terrorism Policing North West are leading the investigation and are working with Greater Manchester Police.
Court Proceedings
No pleas were entered at this stage and there were no applications for bail. No further details can be reported.
Mr Elliot, of St Brelades Drive, Salford, is charged with possession of an offensive weapon, namely a hammer and a kitchen knife, and having an article with intent to destroy/damage property, namely a can of spray paint and lighter fuel.
Mr Smyth, of Grantham Drive, Bury, is charged with possession of a bladed article, namely a kitchen knife; and having an article with intent to destroy/damage property, namely a can of spray paint, lighter fuel.
Next Hearing
The case was adjourned for a pretrial and preparation hearing on October 26 at Manchester Crown Court, Crown Square. Both Mr Elliot and Mr Smyth were remanded into custody until the next hearing.
