A 51-year-old man died after falling from an elevated position during a concert at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Saturday night, according to the New York City Police Department.
Officers responded to a 911 call at approximately 9:51 p.m. and found the man unconscious and unresponsive with injuries consistent with a fall, police said in a statement. He was transported to Bellevue Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Authorities have not released his name pending notification of family.

The incident occurred during a performance by Goose, a Connecticut-based rock band, which was playing the second of a two-night booking at the iconic arena. The band expressed their sorrow in a Facebook post, stating they were “deeply saddened and heartbroken to learn of the tragic event that occurred.”
Madison Square Garden, often referred to as the Garden, is a major music venue and sports arena in midtown Manhattan. It recently gained attention for hosting the New York Knicks during their first NBA championship run in over 50 years, where they defeated the San Antonio Spurs. The venue also occasionally hosts political rallies.
