Man Extradited from Greece After Two-Year Run

Andrew Bird, a 42-year-old man from Liverpool, has been extradited from Greece after evading capture for two years. He was detained in Greece and brought back to the UK on June 25, where he now faces charges related to drug trafficking and possession of extreme pornographic images on the dark web.

Charges and Background

Bird, of Bempton Road, Liverpool, has been charged with conspiracy to supply and export class A, B, and C drugs, as well as possession of extreme pornographic images. The charges stem from his activities on the dark web, according to the North West Regional Organised Crime Unit (NWROCU). He had been wanted since failing to attend court in September 2024.

Extradition and Court Appearance

Following his arrest in Greece, extradition arrangements were made. Bird appeared at Liverpool Crown Court on June 26, where he was remanded in custody. His trial is scheduled for December 2026.
