Police officers discovered a machete, a Rambo knife, suspected illegal drugs and a quantity of fireworks inside a house in Walton during an evening search on Wednesday, September 30.
Items seized in search
Officers attended the address at around 7pm and found suspected crack cocaine and heroin, along with knives and a haul of fireworks. A quantity of suspected crack cocaine, bank notes, graft phones, drug paraphernalia including scales and snaps bags, and cannabis were seized. A further search revealed a machete and a Rambo knife in the property.
Arrest and charges
A 57-year-old woman from Walton was arrested on suspicion of robbery and further arrested for two counts of possession with intent to supply a controlled class A drug, suspected crack cocaine and heroin, possession with intent to supply a controlled class B drug, cannabis, conspire to acquire criminal property, and possession of an offensive weapon in a private place. She remains in police custody for questioning.
Police response
Inspector Gaenor Kennedy said: “Thanks to proactive policing we have uncovered a suspected drug dealing operation involving class A drugs being sold on our streets.
“Drug dealing is a blight on our community, causes misery to families. We are relentless in pursuing those involved in drug dealing and serious and organised criminality.
“Our work to bring these people to justice will continue on a daily basis and I would ask anyone who has information about this kind of activity to come forward so action can be taken.”
