Two teenagers were taken to hospital with serious injuries after a crash in the St Peter's Basin area of Newcastle, with the driver fleeing the scene. The incident occurred on Tuesday evening in Churchill Mews, according to Northumbria Police.
Details of the incident
Police were alerted to the collision shortly after 11pm. A car had collided with a Sur-Ron motorcycle and subsequently left the scene. Emergency services attended and two people – a 17-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man – were taken to hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
The car believed to be involved was later located a short distance away and seized. Officers remain at the scene to carry out further enquiries.

The ambulance service confirmed they received a call at 11.12pm and dispatched three ambulance crews, transporting two patients to hospital.
A police cordon remained in place covering much of Glasshouse Street throughout Wednesday morning as investigations continue.
