Two people have been arrested after more than 200 wraps of class A drugs were seized during raids in Stockport. Officers from Operation Vulcan carried out a warrant on Buxton Road shortly before 6am on October 27, targeting drug supply in the Brinnington area.
During the operation, police recovered between 150 and 200 wraps of crack cocaine and heroin, along with a Surron bike, a large quantity of cash, drug paraphernalia and mobile phones. A subsequent house search uncovered a pocket knife and a machete.
Arrests and charges
An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and possession of an offensive weapon. A 17-year-old boy was also arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs. Both remain in custody for further questioning.
Operation Vulcan has been active in the Brinnington area since February, resulting in more than a hundred arrests, along with numerous charges, drug recoveries and weapon seizures. The latest action is part of the team's ongoing commitment to reducing drug supply on the streets of Brinnington and surrounding areas.
Police statement
Sergeant Oli Cooper, from the Operation Vulcan team, said: "The Vulcan team has been operating in the area for eight months now, but we are not slowing in our efforts. Today's results have provided significant disruption to criminality in the area, reminding them that we are constantly working and acting on intelligence."
He added: "We have recovered thousands in harmful and illicit substances, as well as numerous other items. Getting deadly weapons out of irresponsible hands is always a positive outcome too. If you are in Brinnington, our message is very clear: we are there for you, and will do what we can to help you with any issues you may have."
