Horrific House Fire Murder: Woman and Man Charged After Pensioner's Tragic Death in Suspected Drug Feud | Daily Mail
Murder charges after pensioner dies in house fire

A quiet neighbourhood has been shattered by a horrific crime after a woman and a man were charged with the murder of a pensioner who perished in a deliberately set house fire.

The accused, Chelsea Powell, 27, and Benjamin Parry, 36, appeared at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, facing the grave allegation. The charges stem from a devastating incident at a property in the Llanelli area of Carmarthenshire, where the body of a 70-year-old man was tragically discovered.

The pair are further accused of a catalogue of serious drug offences, painting a picture of a potentially drug-related feud that turned deadly. The charges include being concerned in the production of cannabis, a Class B drug, and possession of criminal property.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Saturday, September 14th, after reports of a blaze. Despite the efforts of firefighters, the elderly victim was pronounced dead at the location.

Following a swift and thorough investigation by Dyfed-Powys Police, the fire was treated as suspicious, leading to the arrest and subsequent charging of the two individuals.

Both Powell and Parry have been remanded in custody and are set to appear at Swansea Crown Court on Thursday, September 26th, where they will face justice for their alleged crimes.
