A man has been left with serious injuries after a corrosive substance was hurled at him in Glasgow. The victim, 50, was in the Rathlin Street area of Govan when the attack took place at around 3am on Sunday, 19 July. He was subsequently taken to hospital to receive treatment.
Police believe attack was targeted
Detectives believe the assault was deliberate and targeted, and are now appealing for witnesses. The suspect is described as a white male, aged in his late thirties to early forties, around 5ft11 in height and of medium build. He had dark brown/black hair which was curly at the top and shorter at the sides.
Appeal for information
Detective Constable Mark Garner said: "We believe this was a targeted incident and we are asking anyone who was in the area at the time, saw what happened or heard a disturbance, to get in touch." He added: "I am also asking anyone who has private CCTV or doorbell footage in the area to review this for anything which may assist our enquiries."
