A man who concealed a haul of drugs in his anus to sell at a dance music festival has been jailed after police dogs sniffed him out in seconds, according to Cheshire Police.
Arrest at Creamfields
Imaad Choudry, 32, from Stockport, attempted to enter the Creamfields Festival in Daresbury, Cheshire, on Sunday, August 24, last year. A police drugs dog indicated that he was in possession of illegal drugs, and he was taken by security to a private area.
Police said Choudry 'openly admitted' that he had concealed a quantity of cocaine and MDMA. A total of 14 bags of cocaine and nine MDMA tablets were recovered, with an estimated street value of between £640 and £800.
Court Sentencing
Choudry, of Turnberry Road, Heald Green, pleaded guilty to two counts of possession with intent to supply class A drugs, namely cocaine and MDMA. He appeared at Chester Crown Court on June 26, where he was jailed for 32 months.
Following the sentencing, Pc Lisa Green said: 'Choudry thought that he could outsmart officers by hiding his illegal drugs in his anus, however he seriously underestimated the capabilities of our four-legged colleagues who took just seconds to sniff him out.'
Impact and Warning
Green added: 'As a result of his actions, he’s now facing a significant prison sentence meaning that he won't be able to attend this year's festival. While we know that Choudry, along with dozens of other previous offenders, won't be attending this year's festival, make no mistake the team here at Cheshire Police will be out in force, and anyone found with illegal drugs will be held accountable.'
