Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are dealing with the fallout of his failed lawsuit against Associated Newspapers, which has been described as a financial 'Armageddon' by TV presenter Mark Dolan.
Financial Consequences
Appearing on Royally Unfiltered, Dolan warned of severe financial repercussions, stating that Harry could be on the hook for $10 to $20 million in legal costs. He noted that even a conservative estimate of $10 million would wipe out all the money from Harry's memoir 'Spare'.
Dolan highlighted that Harry had previously canceled a lawsuit against the Mail on Sunday in January 2024, which cost him $1.5 million in legal fees, and now faces even larger costs after this latest defeat.
Reputational Damage
Dolan described the situation as an 'existential crisis' for Harry, criticizing his approach to litigation. "He's gone in like a bull in a china shop," Dolan said, suggesting that Harry sued out of anger rather than with a rational strategy.
In July, Harry lost his High Court privacy case against the publishers of The Daily Mail. In a joint statement with fellow claimant Baroness Doreen Lawrence, they expressed disappointment, calling the outcome "a complete and obvious whitewash."
