Drug mule influencer flaunts spa day after early release

Ellie Crampsie, the 23-year-old influencer caught smuggling £150,000 of cannabis, has been spotted enjoying a luxury spa day at Hilton Glasgow Health and Fitness after her early release from prison.

Crampsie, from Broomhouse, Glasgow, was found with more than 17 kilos of the Class B drug stuffed into a suitcase as she travelled home from a holiday in Thailand in April last year. She pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug at Edinburgh and was handed a 16-month sentence in April.

The influencer claimed she was forced into carrying the drug haul by a former boyfriend, and a sheriff accepted she had been "naive and potentially taken advantage of". She only served a fraction of her sentence before being released on a tag with a nightly curfew.

Spa day and social media return

On Thursday, Crampsie shared pictures of her day out on social media, posing in a leopard print bikini in the sauna before sharing a snap of a meal with her friend. She wrote: "Spa days with my girl."

It is not her first outing since the early release. Crampsie previously enjoyed the Colourfest dance music festival on August 16 alongside Courtney Doyle, the OnlyFans model known as 'Scottish Barbie', who dodged jail last year.

Courtney Doyle's conviction

Doyle pled guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court after attacking Carly Stewart at Wunderbar in Glasgow city centre on April 1, 2024. The self-employed aesthetics practitioner repeatedly stamped on Miss Stewart's head and body and punched her while she lay on the floor. Doyle later claimed she had intervened as Miss Stewart attacked her pregnant friend.

Lorna Clark, defending, told the hearing that the incident was Doyle's third conviction for violence. As an "alternative to custody", Doyle, of Uddingston, Lanarkshire, was ordered to pay Miss Stewart £200 in compensation.

Early release rules

Crampsie qualified for early release following an amendment passed by the Scottish Government in October 2025. The amendment was made to the Home Detention Curfew, meaning short-term prisoners are eligible for the scheme after serving 15% of their sentence instead of a quarter.

At her sentencing hearing, Sheriff Graeme Watson said: "You have pled guilty to by way of a section 76 of being concerned in the supply of cannabis, a Class B drug. You were stopped by border control officers with a suitcase containing over 17 kilograms of cannabis in vacuum sealed packages with a street value of up to £151,000."

He added: "I have carefully considered the criminal justice social work report and the plea of mitigation on your behalf. I accept the submission on your behalf that there was a lesser degree of culpability. You knew your former partner had been involved in drugs and he asked you to check in his luggage that also contained female clothes. Your role was one of carrying the cannabis in your luggage and I accept there was a power imbalance in the relationship."
