Two women arrested after a three-year-old boy fell from a window in Rochdale have been released on bail, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) has confirmed.
Incident on Spotland Tops
Emergency services were called to a 'concern for welfare' incident on Spotland Tops, in the Cutgate area of the town, shortly after 4.15pm on Saturday afternoon (August 22). Police and paramedics responded, with the air ambulance spotted landing nearby.
The Manchester Evening News understands the boy fell from a first-floor window of a property. GMP said the boy was taken to hospital in a critical condition.
Arrests and bail
Two women, aged 19 and 20, were arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury to a child. They were detained at an address in Blackburn, Lancashire, on Sunday.
Today (August 25), a GMP spokesperson said the women have been released on bail as enquiries continue. The force added: "Enquiries into the full circumstances around this incident are ongoing."
