An 18-year-old man has been taken into custody following a violent domestic incident in Pennsylvania, where he is accused of fatally shooting his mother and wounding his father, according to state police.

Christmas Tragedy Unfolds

Jarrod Noll was apprehended on Saturday evening in West Virginia, after authorities allege he shot both of his parents at their family home in New Freeport, Pennsylvania. The incident occurred on 26 December 2025, the day after Christmas.

Police were called to the residence, located just north of the West Virginia border, where they discovered a man and a woman, later identified as a married couple, suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were rushed to a nearby hospital. Tragically, the woman succumbed to her injuries while in critical condition. The man was treated and later released in a stable condition.

Multi-State Manhunt and Capture

Investigators quickly identified the couple's son, Jarrod Noll, as the suspected shooter. Police determined he had fled the scene on foot, prompting an extensive search operation involving multiple agencies.

"We used tracking dogs, we used helicopters, and we used police on foot searching rough terrain," stated Pennsylvania State Police Sergeant Richard Sizer. "Obviously, when you have someone on the run with a homicide warrant, on the run with a gun, it is a huge danger to the community."

The pursuit ended on Saturday when Noll was captured in West Virginia. He was reportedly armed at the time of his arrest. Noll is currently being held as a fugitive in West Virginia and will be extradited to Pennsylvania to face charges of homicide and attempted homicide.

Younger Siblings in Safe Custody

Authorities confirmed that Noll's younger siblings were present at the home during the shooting, which occurred just outside the property. The children, whose ages have not been disclosed, are now safely in the custody of another family member.

Police have not yet established a motive for the attack. In a statement on social media, state police described the event as "an isolated incident" and confirmed there was no further threat to the public.

Sergeant Sizer expressed gratitude to the local community for their cooperation during the disruptive search: "We thank the community; we kind of moved in here and we're walking their properties and taking over streets and things that we needed to do to successfully resolve the incident. We're glad it's over."
