Chiefs Star Rashee Rice Faces Domestic Violence Allegations from Mother of His Children
NFL's Rashee Rice Accused of Domestic Violence

The Kansas City Chiefs and the National Football League have launched an investigation after the mother of star wide receiver Rashee Rice's two children posted graphic allegations of domestic violence on social media.

Graphic Allegations Surface on Instagram

Dacoda Nichole Jones uploaded a lengthy statement alongside 14 photographs to Instagram on Wednesday afternoon. The images reportedly showed visible cuts and bruises on her body, alongside pictures of a trashed home and ripped clothing. While she did not explicitly name the 25-year-old Super Bowl winner, the context strongly pointed to Rice, with whom she has had an eight-year relationship.

In her post, which began with a content warning, Jones wrote: "I'm so tired of keeping quiet I'm so tired of protecting his image. I've been through too much in a span of 8 years and I've had ENOUGH!" She detailed a pattern of alleged abuse, claiming Rice had been "very controlling" and had put his hands on her while she was pregnant.

Jones further alleged that Rice had broken down her door at her new home, locked her outside in freezing temperatures, and destroyed her personal belongings, including cutting up her shoes and clothes. She also accused him of failing to support their two sons financially and emotionally, stating he "does the bare minimum and I have to beg for that."

Chiefs and NFL Respond as Legal History Revisited

The Chiefs organisation swiftly acknowledged the allegations. "The club is aware of the allegations on social media and is in communication with the National Football League. We have no further comment at this time," the team said in an official statement on Wednesday night.

This controversy adds to a troubled period for Rice, who is currently serving a six-game suspension at the start of the 2025 NFL season. This punishment stems from his guilty plea to two felony charges related to a high-speed, multi-car crash in Dallas in May 2024. For his role in the incident, which involved racing a friend in a Lamborghini, Rice was sentenced in July 2025 to 30 days in jail, five years' probation, and ordered to pay $115,482 in restitution to victims.

Despite his legal issues, Rice has received public support from high-profile teammates, notably star tight end Travis Kelce. As Rice neared his return from suspension, Kelce defended his character, calling him "one of my favourite people" and a "good dude." Teammates even warmed up in 'Free 4' shirts in a show of solidarity during his absence.

Fallout and Investigation Underway

As of early Thursday evening, local reports indicated that Jones had not yet filed a formal police report regarding her allegations. The Daily Mail has contacted the Chiefs, the NFL, Jones, and Rice's representatives for further comment.

The allegations pose a significant challenge for the Chiefs, for whom Rice is a key offensive weapon. He was a standout performer in their Super Bowl-winning campaign and is considered central to head coach Andy Reid's plans for rebuilding the team after a disappointing season.

The NFL, which has a personal conduct policy that applies to all players regardless of criminal proceedings, will now likely conduct its own parallel investigation into the serious claims made by Dacoda Nichole Jones.
