Daniel Billings has been sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of Molly Ticehurst, with a non-parole period of 24 years. The sentence was handed down in the New South Wales Supreme Court on Monday.

Ticehurst, 28, was found dead in her home at Fifield, in the state's central west, in April 2024. Billings, 31, had previously pleaded guilty to the murder.
The court heard that Billings had a history of domestic violence against Ticehurst. He was on bail for charges of rape, stalking, and breaching an apprehended violence order at the time of the murder.
Sentencing and Impact
Justice Julia Lonergan described the murder as "a brutal and cowardly act" and said Billings had shown no remorse. The non-parole period of 24 years means Billings will be eligible for release in 2048.
