A man was allegedly slashed on the face, back and arm during a suspected burglary at a home in a Northumberland town. Arthur Bostock, 27, Michael Nixon, 27, and Dane Richardson, 27, were accused of being armed with machetes when they targeted an address in Blyth on July 26.
The court heard that the trio allegedly attacked a man with the weapon and made off with items, including an electric bike. The suspected victim required treatment for wounds to his face, back and arm, prosecutors said.
Court Appearance
Bostock, of Netherdale, in Bedlington; Nixon, of no fixed abode; and Richardson, of Shelley Crescent, in Blyth, appeared at Newcastle Magistrates' Court this week after each being charged with one count of aggravated burglary. Because of the seriousness of the allegation, no pleas were taken during the hearings, and each man spoke only to confirm their name, date of birth and address.
Jade Houston, prosecuting, said the alleged offence happened at an address in Blyth at the weekend. Miss Houston added: "The case is indictable only, so must go to the crown court. It's alleged that the victim was subjected to serious violence and injury."
Remanded in Custody
Magistrates sent the case to Newcastle Crown Court, where all three men will appear on August 25. In the meantime, they were each remanded in custody.
