Courtney Clenney, a former adult model serving a sentence for killing her boyfriend, is reportedly a source of terror for guards and fellow inmates at a Florida jail. The 30-year-old is accused of cornering a wheelchair-bound prisoner and using racial slurs, while also threatening to tip the woman onto the floor, according to the Daily Mail.
Alleged incidents behind bars
Clenney is also alleged to have joined a group of cellmates to surround a pregnant inmate and slap her buttocks to mimic gunshots. The alleged victim reportedly said she feared for her unborn baby's life. The rows were so frequent that Clenney was moved between a dozen different cells at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Centre, a dossier published by the Daily Mail claims.
Clenney was arrested in August 2022 and spent four years inside the high-security Miami facility while awaiting trial for the fatal stabbing of her boyfriend Christian Obumseli, 27, in 2022. She was charged with second-degree murder but will serve just two additional years in prison after admitting guilt last month to manslaughter with a deadly weapon.
Disciplinary record
Clenney's legal team have consistently attempted to portray her as a victim of domestic abuse who killed the much larger Obumseli in a frantic act of self-defence. However, disciplinary reports suggest the former model is far from docile and vulnerable. She was processed into a 'safety cell' at Turner Guilford Knight on August 26, 2022, following her arrest during a rehabilitation programme in Hawaii and extradition to Florida, the documents show.
Her first disciplinary action came four months later when she lost commissary privileges for five days after defying orders to return to her cell. In April 2023, Clenney is said to have exploded at officer L. Nelson who was seven minutes late unlocking her door, declaring: "Pop my door b****. Ya'll dumb a** h*** need to learn how to learn your job, stupid b****!"
Confrontations with inmates
Clenney is reported to have labelled Nelson a 'f****** liar' and was slapped with an eight-day suspension of privileges and visits. In July 2023, guards had to separate Clenney and another inmate when they squared up in the shower block, ready to 'engage in a physical fight,' according to the records.
Months later, a wheelchair-bound prisoner named Atoya Holmes tearfully informed staff that Clenney had confronted her "aggressively" and cornered her, as per an October 2023 incident report. "You're a low life n****. I should push you out this wheelchair and break your other ankle," Clenney is alleged to have shouted at her. 'I'm so tired of all you black n***** I don't know what to do.'
