Dr Hannah Terry, a GP and mother of three, was found dead at a property near the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk where she was hosting a children's sleepover. Mark Cain, 45, has been charged with her murder.
Discovery and identification
Dr Terry, also known by her married name Hannah Cain, was located at a residence in Fern Hill, Dersingham, just over a mile from Sandringham House, in the early hours of Sunday. Norfolk Police officially identified her after officers discovered the body of a woman in her 40s, following an alert from the ambulance service shortly after 2.20am.
The Grimston Medical Centre, where Dr Terry is listed as part of the practice team, posted a message on its website stating it is "temporarily closed due to extremely difficult circumstances affecting our practice team."
Arrest and charge
A man in his 40s was apprehended on suspicion of murder and taken to King's Lynn police investigation centre for questioning. On Monday, police stated that officers had requested a warrant of further detention from Great Yarmouth Magistrates' Court, which would grant them an additional 32 hours to interrogate the man. Mark Cain has now been charged with her murder.
A cordon remains in place at the property as investigations persist.

Detective Inspector Alix Wright, of the Norfolk and Suffolk major investigation team, said on Sunday: "We are in the very early stages of this investigation, working to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the woman's death. I'd ask anyone who believes they may have information that could help our investigation to please share this with us."
