Two-Month-Old Baby Hospitalised After New Year's Day Assault in Plymouth

A two-month-old baby girl was taken to hospital after a disturbance in Plymouth on New Year's Day. Police were called to a flat in the Prince Rock area shortly after midnight following reports of shouting and an altercation involving a group of people.

Officers found the injured infant at the scene on Mainstone Avenue and Elliot Road. She was rushed to Bristol Children's Hospital, where her injuries were described as not life-threatening or life-changing.

Devon and Cornwall Police arrested an 18-year-old man from Plymouth on suspicion of assault. He was taken to Charles Cross police station and later released on bail pending further enquiries.
