A father of two was discovered dead with stab wounds at his £2.5 million family home early on Sunday morning. Neil Muller, 54, the chief executive of a leading technology firm, sustained stab wounds to his chest and died at his country residence in Warwickshire.
Emergency Response
Paramedics were called to Mr Muller's gated, five-bedroom property at 6:15 AM on June 7. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:37 AM. Approximately one hour later, police arrested a 55-year-old woman from Birmingham on suspicion of murder. She has since been released on bail pending further inquiries.
Tribute from Node4
Mr Muller had recently been appointed as CEO of the technology company Node4. In a statement, a Node4 spokesperson expressed devastation over his death. They noted that although he had only recently joined the company, he made a meaningful impact in a short time, bringing energy, momentum, and passion to the business. His loss will be deeply felt across Node4 and the wider industry. The company extended thoughts to his family, colleagues, and all who knew him during this difficult time.
Mr Muller joined Node4 in April of this year. Previously, he had led MSP Digital Space for seven years. He also managed the local football side Claverdon FC. He was married and had two children.
Family's Grief
Mr Muller's father, Brian, aged 81, told the Daily Mail that the family is still waiting for details about what happened. He received a phone call from the police at 9 AM on Monday morning informing him of Neil's death, but no further information has been provided. He mentioned that they last spoke on the phone the previous week, though sometimes they go months without hearing from him due to his busy work schedule.
Community Shock
Local residents expressed shock over the incident. One anonymous resident noted that Mr Muller did a lot for the local football club and described his death as a real shock and loss to the village. Police remained at the scene on Tuesday.
Mr Muller had retired as assistant manager of Claverdon football club's men's team in 2024 but remained involved as a sponsor. His death occurred the night after an end-of-season award ceremony held at the Red Lion pub, though it is unknown if he attended.
Club chairman Charlie Waterworth, who was out of the country, said it was too early to make any statements and that he did not know the circumstances.
