Raheem Sterling coaches at RS7 Academy while seeking new club

Raheem Sterling, currently without a club after leaving Feyenoord, has been spotted coaching young players at his RS7 Academy while he searches for a new team.

Coaching at RS7 Academy

The 31-year-old former Liverpool and Manchester City star ended his spell with the Dutch club at the conclusion of last season. His time in the Netherlands followed a disappointing loan at Arsenal during the 2024/25 season, after being effectively pushed out of Chelsea by Enzo Maresca in 2024.

Upon returning to Chelsea last summer, Sterling was sidelined for the first half of the season and forced to train alone after being excluded from the main club facilities. He left the Blues by mutual consent in January this year and signed with Feyenoord until the end of the 2025/26 season.

Academy origins and expansion

His brief tenure in the Netherlands proved disappointing, and he was not offered an extension. Now, as a free agent, Sterling has kept busy by offering coaching sessions at his RS7 Academy. The academy's social media channels have shown the former England international conducting hands-on training sessions, teaching skills and finishing drills to youngsters.

Sterling originally created the RS7 Academy to find a suitable training environment for his young son, away from the tactics-focused systems of Premier League academies. The academy has brought in big names like former Premier League star Ashley Cole, who recently managed Serie B team Cesena FC, to lead sessions. It has also teamed up with UCFB (University Campus of Football), with plans for future university students to participate and gain experience within the set-up.
