Roxana's body was discovered by investigators in a wooded area near the motorway rest stop, which according to reports has long been known as a location for casual sex. Simona B, described as having a mohawk and sharp, pointed teeth, was arrested at a popular swingers club. Prosecutors accused Simona of getting an 'orgiastic feeling while killing'.

The pair met while inside a psychiatric hospital in Wiesloch, near the French-German border, and bonded over their shared experience of being born in Romania and adopted by foster parents in Saarland.
