Police have arrested a 50-year-old man after a teenage boy was allegedly raped in a toilet at Sheffield train station in broad daylight. The incident occurred at around 3.30pm on Friday, according to British Transport Police.
The alleged rape was reported by a third party. Officers cordoned off a crime scene and carried out forensic work at the station. The boy was supported by trained staff, the force said.
The man was arrested on suspicion of rape and later released on bail pending further enquiries. A British Transport Police spokesperson said: 'Officers recognise the concern this news will cause and can assure the public they are working at pace to establish what happened.'
