The 21-year-old was convicted of producing and distributing sexually explicit online videos in a Moscow court. She narrowly avoided a prison sentence but was handed a $60,000 fine and a three-year internet ban.
Crackdown on explicit content
Vershinina, who also goes by Sonya Marmeladova, will now have to stop her online business on the adult content site. The case is part of a nationwide crackdown on pornography launched on the orders of President Vladimir Putin, who has targeted material seen as undermining traditional values.
According to Russian prosecutors, she reportedly earned more than $400,000 from selling explicit material on Telegram and OnlyFans while living in a luxury penthouse in Moscow.
Seized items to be returned
During the investigation, authorities seized her collection of sex toys and other accessories. Now that the case has concluded, prosecutors have confirmed the items will be returned to her.
Vershinina is not alone in facing prosecution. Diana Shurygina, 27, another OnlyFans model, is currently in custody awaiting trial, while 24-year-old Anastasia Ovsyannikova, known as "Nastya Kholod," has also been detained on suspicion of the illegal production and circulation of pornographic content.
