Merseyside Police have released a CCTV image of a man they believe could assist their investigation after a suspect exposed himself on a bus in Stockbridge Village.
The incident was reported to have happened at around 4pm on Friday, July 10, when a man allegedly "exposed himself and behaved indecently" while sitting at the back of a number 13 bus on Haswell Drive.
Passengers got off the bus and told a group of men standing outside the Village Inn pub. The men boarded the bus and "frogmarched" the suspect off, after which he ran off in the direction of Whitethorn Drive.
Investigation and appeal
An investigation was launched and extensive enquiries have been conducted, police said. Detectives have now issued CCTV images of a man they believe could assist in their investigation.
Detective Inspector Graeme Kehoe said: "Children were present on the bus, and passengers were very shocked and distressed by this behaviour with some leaving the bus and informing the group of men of what they witnessed.
"We take reports of this nature very seriously and are exploring all opportunities to ensure that the person responsible is identified.
"We are very keen to speak with the person featured in the images to help with our enquiries and would urge him to contact us as soon as possible, or anyone who recognises him to please contact us. We believe he could hold information that could be vital to our continuing enquiries."
