Nottingham Park Cordoned Off After Man's Sudden Death

Part of a popular Nottingham park was cordoned off by police on Tuesday morning following the sudden death of a man in his 20s.

Nottinghamshire Police officers were called to Forest Recreation Ground on Mansfield Road shortly before 6.15am on Tuesday, June 16. Upon arrival, they discovered a man in his 20s who had died. Despite the efforts of first responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A section of the park near Noel Street was cordoned off to allow forensic investigators to examine the area. By Tuesday afternoon, the cordon had been lifted, leaving only a piece of torn police tape attached to a fence as a reminder of the incident.

Police Statement

Detective Inspector Lisa Jones said: “Officers were called to the Forest Recreation Ground, Mansfield Road, Nottingham, at 6.13am on Tuesday following reports of a man’s sudden death. Despite the best efforts of first responders, the man, aged in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.”

She added: “There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”

The death is not being treated as suspicious, according to Nottinghamshire Police.
