Nine men on trial after husband drugged and raped wife

The trial of nine men accused of sexual offences is underway at Minshull Street Crown Court, following a husband's admission that he drugged and raped his wife over a 20-year period. The husband, a man in his 60s from Stockport, pleaded guilty to 60 charges last month.

His guilty pleas covered offences including rape, assault by penetration, administering a substance with intent, sexual assault, attempted rape and sharing intimate photographs or film. The Manchester Evening News and other media organisations are not naming the man in order to protect his victim's anonymity.
