A newborn baby has been found dead in a bin bag "full of blood" near a park in Bobigny, France, prompting a murder investigation and a police search for a suspect. The discovery was made on June 29 after a passer-by observed an individual dumping the bag and immediately alerted authorities.
Discovery and Initial Response
According to Le Parisien, police officers were approached shortly before 12:30pm local time near the path leading to Parc de la Bergère. The bin bag contained the body of a newborn and was described as being "full of blood." The passer-by provided a description of the suspect, who is now actively being sought by police.
Investigation Launched
The Bobigny prosecutor's office confirmed that an investigation has been opened for "murder of a minor under 15 and concealment of a body." The Seine-Saint-Denis territorial security service (ST93) is leading the inquiry. A source told Le Parisien that "a description of an individual has been issued, but without knowing their precise involvement." The circumstances surrounding the baby's death remain unknown.
Police are urging anyone with information to come forward as they continue their search for the suspect. The area near the park has been cordoned off for forensic examination.
