A 22-year-old man has died after being stabbed near Heathrow Airport in the early hours of Tuesday, prompting a murder investigation by the Metropolitan Police's Homicide Command. The incident occurred at the junction of Bath Road and Great South West Road in Cranford at approximately 01:47 BST.
Police officers and London Ambulance Service paramedics responded to the scene, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene despite their efforts. His next-of-kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
Crime Scene and Road Closures
A large cordon remains in place on the A4 between Great South West Road and The Parkway, with two forensic tents erected behind the police line. The road closure, first implemented shortly after midnight on Monday, has led to queueing traffic and diversions for motorists. Transport for London has confirmed that bus routes are being diverted away from the area.
Detective Chief Inspector Paul Waller, leading the investigation, stated: "Our officers responded quickly with London Ambulance Service and did everything possible to help the victim. Our thoughts remain with his family and friends. This is a fast-paced investigation, and enquiries are ongoing."

No arrests have been made at this stage, and detectives are appealing for witnesses and any CCTV, doorbell, or mobile phone footage that may provide vital evidence. DCI Waller added: "Any information, no matter how minor it may seem, could prove crucial. CCTV, doorbell or mobile phone footage may provide vital evidence."
